Summer Cruise
June 29 – July 8, 2012
The 2012 Summer Cruise will take in some of the most beautiful spots between Barrington and Edgartown, including Cuttyhunk, Hadley’s Harbor and Tarpaulin Bay. The cruise will depart Barrington on Friday, June 29th, with a short overnight stop at Third Beach before heading to Hadley’s Harbor for two nights. We will then spend three days (July 2nd, 3rd and 4th) in Edgartown, followed by an overnight stop in Tarpaulin Bay and two nights in Cuttyhunk before returning to Barrington on Sunday, July 8th.
This will be a relaxing cruise, with plenty of time at each destination. Many fun activities are being planned, including cocktail parties on the beach, pot luck dinners, the traditional July 4th dinghy parade, a tour of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, treasure hunts, and a sandcastle building competition.
The full itinerary is as follows:
- Fri, June 29 – Cruise departs BYC with an overnight stop at Third Beach
- Sat, June 30 – Third Beach to Hadley’s Harbor
- Sun, July 1 – Hadley’s Harbor
- Mon, July 2 – Hadley’s Harbor to Edgartown
- Tue, July 3 – Edgartown (Dinner at Edgartown Yacht Club)
- Wed, July 4 – Edgartown (Dinghy Parade and Fireworks)
- Thu, July 5 – Edgartown to Tarpaulin Bay
- Fri, July 6 – Tarpaulin Bay to Cuttyhunk
- Sat, July 7 – Cuttyhunk
- Sun, July 8 – Cuttyhunk to Barrington
Please make mooring reservations in Edgartown for the nights of July 2, 3 & 4 at www.edgartownharbor.com. Make sure to mention that you are with BYC on the form. There is limited mooring availability in Edgartown for the nights of July 3 and 4, but the Harbor Master and the Edgartown Yacht Club are working with us to find suitable moorings/dockage for BYC boats.
