Hello Sailors and Families!
The Sail Training Program (STP) is ready for a fun and safe season on Narragansett Bay! We have hired a new Program Director, Gavin Rudolph, and Head Instructor, Kyle Wilson. We will hold an orientation night on June 21, 2012. The evening will be an opportunity to meet our new instructors and welcome back returning instructors, as well as to answer any questions that families may have. This season, STP will continue to implement the positive changes made last year, such as keeping class sizes small, developing a curriculum for each class, and requiring that instructors track the progress of each child in their class.
As you read through the Registration Catalog, be sure to notice the following changes to our program:
· Sharks and Snappers will both be held in the mornings from 9-12, unless there are more than 15 students total signed up for each session, in which case Snappers will be in the morning and Sharks will be in the afternoon.
· The minimum age for all Opti sailors is 8 years old
This catalog provides all the information you need to register your children for STP, but there is much more information concerning STP policies, procedures, and expectations in the STP Program Handbook.
The mission of Barrington Yacht Club’s Sail Training Program is to provide quality instruction to members of all ages that will broaden their knowledge and love of sailing, either on the race course or cruising, that will last them a lifetime.
